Lamp Power supply service warning on a SHOWGUN OR SHOWGUN 2.5

Symptoms/Issue

Lamp power supply service warning appears on the fixture.

Description/Explanation of Issue

This could be a potential ballast failure due to voltage holdover.

Fix/Solution

Always use an insulated screwdriver when removing or installing the ballast into SHOWGUN fixtures. It has been observed that due to the very long voltage holdover of the ballast, using a non insulated screwdriver can cause a short that can cause damage to the lamp enable circuit.

Proper screwdrivers will have the following ratings, VDE approved handles, insulated to 1,000 Volts or certified to IEC 60900:2004. If an insulated screwdriver is unavailable, install heat shrink tubing over the screwdriver shank.
