Studio Color 575 Ballast Compatability

Can M unit ballasts be changed for an S Ballast safely between a Studio Color 575 (208v) and a Studio Color 575 (110v)?

High End does not recommend attempting this because the M version has a magnetic ballast and the S has the switching lamp power supply ballast. The wiring is different and the igniters are different. The M does not have lamp control and the lamp is on or off with power only. The S has lamp control through the logic board which talks to the lamp power supply.

The faulty lamp power supply may be repairable and you can contact Light Parts about having it repaired.
