Pharos Express Hardware Recovery

Issue

Pharos Express controllers and touchscreens can be recovered by recovered by the below process. 

 XPC Recovery Process

1. Power off the controller and remove the micro SD memory card from Express Control and insert it into your computer.
2. Wipe all files on the memory card (ensure you have made any necessary backups).
3. Locate the XPC firmware file in the Express installation location or app bundle.
   1. On Windows
      1. XPC Firmware is located in the firmware folder in the Express installation location.
         1. The default installion path is: C:\Program Files\Pharos Controls\Express\firmware > xpc.fw
   2. On Mac
      1. XPC Firmware is located in the within the Applications directory
         1. Locate your Express Installation and right click on the Application Icon
            1. Right-Click and choose 'Show Package Contents'
            2. Navigate to Content > Resources > firmware > xpc.fw
                
4. Copy the file xpc.app from the firmware folder to the memory card.
5. Reinsert the memory card into Express Control and restart the controller. Express Control will boot, but will take longer to boot than normal. Wait for the Active LED to illuminate continuously.
6. Connect to Express controller using Express software and reload the firmware as normal.
7. Remove the memory card from Express Control and insert it into your computer again.
8. Delete the file xpc.app file from the memory card.
9. Reinsert the memory card into Express Control and restart the controller

XPT (Touchscreen) Recovery Process

1. Power off the touchscreen and remove the micro SD memory card from the touchscreen and insert it into your computer. 
2. Wipe all files on the memory card (ensure you have made any necessary backups).
3. Locate the XPT firmware file in the Express installation location or app bundle.
   1. On Windows
      1. XPT Firmware is located in the firmware folder in the Express installation location.
         1. The default installion path is: C:\Program Files\Pharos Controls\Express\firmware > xpt.fw
   2. On Mac
      1. XPT Firmware is located in the within the Applications directory
         1. Locate your Express Installation and right click on the Application Icon
            1. Right-Click and choose 'Show Package Contents'
            2. Navigate to Content > Resources > firmware > xpt.fw
4. Reinsert the memory card into touchscreen and restart the device. The touchscreen will boot, but will take longer to boot than normal.
5. Connect to Express touchscreen using Express software and reload the firmware as normal.
6. Remove the memory card from touchscreen and insert it into your computer again.
7. Delete the file xpc.app file from the memory card.
8. Reinsert the memory card into touchscreen and restart the controller
