Making configuration changes on Digital Address Systems DAS
Goal
To make adjustments to a DAS (Digital Address System) architectural system such a control scope or preset changes.
Two kinds of DAS
You will need to identify the kind of DAS system you have. In generic terms, there were two kinds. First was a DAS system without an LCD screen where the ETC Factory would burn a custom configuration into the EMAP card. The second would be with an LCD control so that a field technician could write the configuration on site.
EMAP
All DAS systems have an EMAP, which is essentially the brain of the system. It may be installed in an enclosure labeled "Architectural Receiver Unit".
DAS LCD
Some DAS systems would have an LCD included which allows a direct interface into the configuration.
Making changes
If your system has button stations with record options and/or an LCD, you are able to make preset changes. If you have a DAS system with an LCD, you are able to make system changes such as control scope and patch. .
If you do not have an LCD and only the EMAP, you are unfortunately locked into the system config. The ETC factory is no longer able to write burn in configs on an EMAP for DAS system.
