Echo Occupancy and Vacancy Sensors Not Working as a Group

Issue

All of my Echo Occupancy and/or Vacancy sensors are assigned to the same Echo Space, but they are not acting together as a group.

Explanation

If the sensors have a zone control function assigned to their Vacancy action, this is expected behavior.  By design, a sensor with a vacancy action at a zone control level does not act in tandem with other sensors in the same Echo Space.  This is based on the idea that the sensors are not all controlling the same Zone.  

Fix/Solution

  1. If you need the sensors to work in tandem, you will need to make sure the vacancy action is NOT set to a Zone control action.
  2. If you need multiple sensors to control the same Zone, consider making that zone its own Echo Space and setting the sensor actions to Preset Activate and Space Off.
