Mosaic Designer Software Crashes on Launch
Issue
Mosaic Designer crashes on launch after updating the software or re-installing.
Description
It is recommended that all users who work in Mosaic Designer keep their graphics drivers up to date and ensure that their computer meets the below specified requirements. Non-current drivers can the software to behave unexpectedly. Users may also encounter issues with the software opening or when resuming programming after a computer has been woken from a sleep state. This issues become most prevalent after Mosaic Designer has been updated as the graphics requirements may change after a new release.
Mosaic Designer's minimum computer requirements are as follows:
- An Intel Core i3 processor or above
- 2GB of RAM
- 1GB of free hard disk space
- A screen resolution of at least 1024×768
- For Atlas and Atlas Pro simulation,a GPU that supports OpenCL 1.2 or above is required.
Mosaic Designer's recommended computer requirements are as follows:
- An Intel Core i5 processor or above
- 8 GB of RAM
- 1GB of free hard disk space
- A screen resolution of at least 1024×1080
- For Atlas and Atlas Pro simulation,a GPU that supports OpenCL 1.2 or above is required.
Mosaic Designer supports the following Operating Systems:
- Mac OS 10.7.1 and above
- Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit only)
- Note that Mosaic Designer 2.7 and above require a 64-bit OS to run. Versions of Designer below 2.7 will function in a 32-bit environment.
Fix
- Confirm that your computer meets the specified requirements
- Update your computers drivers by speaking with your local IT department
