Output headers swapped on UHCI-8 I/O beginning July 2025

Issue

In July 2025 ETC began using a new revision of the UHCI (Unison Heritage Contact Interface) 8 in/out a.k.a the "satellite relay output" board. The output headers swapped positions from the original PCB (7181B5611) to the new PCB (7181B5976 rev B0). For most new installations this change won't have much impact, since the majority of these are included in other top-level parts that come pre-wired from the factory. This is most likely to cause confusion when:

  • Replacing an old 7181B5611 board with a new 7181B5976 board. Fortunately the pinout and direction of the Phoenix connectors are identical between revisions, so when swapping boards each connector will need to be flipped 180 degrees and inserted into the other position. Upon binding to the P-ACP it will resume normal operation.
  • When using the board in any custom applications that isn't pre-installed in a wall or rack-mount unit, and the installer will need to carefully note the orientation of the connectors.

Original 7181B4611 Positions

On the original PCB, outputs 5-8 are located at the top in position J2, and outputs 1-4 are located at the bottom in position J7.

New 7181B5976 Positions

On the new PCB, outputs 1-4 are located at the top in position J1, and outputs 5-8 are located at the bottom in position J7.
