ColorSource Console Will Not Fully Boot, Face Panel LED's are Scrolling Purple

Symptoms/Issue

The console will not fully boot, the LCD will display the ETC splash screen but not the ColorSource logo. During the boot process the face panel LEDs scroll from right to left and continue looping on purple (eventually the console will reboot and start this process over).

Description/Explanation of Issue

While the console is booting different applications are loaded throughout the process. One of the first applications started is the kernel (which handles the rest of the boot process and handles operations between some hardware and software). When the console will not load the kernel it cannot start.

Fix/Solution

1. This usually indicates a problem with the SDRAM and will need to come in for service. The SDRAM on ColorSource consoles are BGA chips that require specific equipment for replacement.
