Swapping the Fader Board on a Gio

| 1. Ensure the console screens are laid down flat. | |
| 2. Move all faders to the center and remove all fader caps by pulling straight up. If the faders are at the upper or lower limit, they can catch on the edges of their slots as you remove the board. |  |
| 3. Using a flat-head screwdriver, turn the 2 large screws on the bottom of the console counter-clockwise to unlock the face panel, then lift up on the bottom of the wrist rest to open it. It should rest up in the fully-open position. | |
| 4. Remove all ribbon cables and wire harnesses (circled in red) from the fader board. The ribbon cables (gray) have retaining tabs at the sides that need to be pushed away from the cable head. If you wish, you can unplug the other side of any of these to get them out of the way. |  |
| 5. Remove the top and bottom rows of screws (circled in red), leaving the middle ones for now. Ensure you do not lose the screws or their washers. It is easiest to work from bottom to top, leaving the top-middle screw for last. |  |
| 6. Place the board on the table with the faders down (you may wish to move some faders to their limits at this point so the board doesn't wobble). Then, remove the middle 3 screws so you can slide the stabilizer out from under the faders. |  |
| 7. Slide the stabilizer into the new board and secure it with the screws you have just removed. | |
| 8. Once the new board has been secured, connect the harnesses and ribbon cables. For the ribbon cables, position the clips such that they are tilted out slightly, rather than all the way down. The wings should flip to a fully-upright position when you plug in the cable, as shown in the images to the right. |   |
| 8.5. If the ribbon cable clips are flipped all the way down, they will not seat properly, as shown in the images to the right. This is not the desired outcome. |   |
| 9. Gently close the face panel and replace the fader caps. The 2 with a blue blue accent should go on the playback faders on the right, above [Stop] and [Go]. The caps are not symmetrical, as shown to the right; make sure to put the slightly taller end towards the top of the console |  |
