Eos Family Software v3.3.3 Known Issues
Issue
After Eos Family Software v3.3.3.10 was released, a few additional issues were uncovered that primarily affect shows with large numbers of channels / cells:
[EOS-57574] Cues with over 1000 channels may not start their marks in the correct cue
[EOS-57610] A marking cue with an intensity delay skips its marks if fired while intensity is still fading down
These issues had been present since v3.3.0, but were exacerbated by a change in the build pipeline for v3.3.3, making them more likely to be encountered. Because of the severity of those issues, Eos v3.3.3 has been hidden from the latest Eos Family Software. If required, it can be found on the All Eos Software Downloads page.
A few other new issues were discovered in v3.3.3.10 which have been targeted to be fixed in v3.3.4:
[EOS-57539] Stopping effect using [Effect X at Enter] will stop all effects if effect X is not running
[EOS-57596] Encoder display and Channel display when holding down [Data]: 5 digit levels are displaying as e+04
[EOS-57303] Effect Editor (CIA) can show wrong pattern after changing effect type, creating new effect or copying effect
Solution
Users have several options.
- If a production relies on Expansion Processing or other new features, v3.3.x is required to maintain those features.
- Showfiles that are created or modified in v3.3.x can generally be operated seamlessly in v3.2.12.1.
- Productions which are not concerned with marking over 1000 channels can continue using v3.3.2 or v3.3.3.
- Productions with tolerance for Beta and potential mid-tech software updates should consider using v3.3.4 and follow-on Beta versions, available through (Eos 3.3.x Open Beta - ETC - Community
- If a production does not rely on Expansion Processing or other new features, v3.2.12 is the most-recent release of the v3.2.x branch and is considered stable.
- Fixture Library Updates are not being produced for v3.2.x. If you need an updated fixture library, install v3.3.2; install the updated Fixture Library; patch the fixture(s) you need and save an esf3d; open that file in v3.2.12.1
