In 2014, some ETC consoles changed from using an embedded version of Windows XP to an embedded version of Windows 7. Along with this change, a hardware change was made that allows you to easily identify which version of embedded operating system is running on the desk by the number of Ethernet ports on the back of the unit. XPe consoles have a single network port while Windows 7 consoles have two.
All consoles with DisplayPort connectors use Windows 7.
