Cisco CBS350 Network Switch - Copper SFP Ports Not Working Properly
Symptoms/Issue
When connecting to CBS350 switches through copper SFPs (ETC Part# SGN1183, typically used to connect two switches together) the connection does not pass any data.
Description/Explanation of Issue
Certain releases of CBS350 firmware have an issue handling the connection type of copper SFP sleds. The issue repeatedly opens and closes the connection until the port is administratively shut off until reenabled. Switch logs will note this as a Link Flap Error.
Fix/Solution
- Update the firmware to 3.5.0.26. Some older firmware versions appear to have this issue.
- Once the firmware is successfully updated, reboot the switch.
