What is the RDM Background Setting?
Description
Response Mk2 Gateways include a setting to enable or disable RDM Background. This setting controls the port's background discovery and polling behaviour.
When the setting is off, the gateway will not discover new devices on that port and will not poll for information except when explicitly requesting data from devices on the line.
When the setting is on, the gateway will discover and update information about devices on the port.
This setting is off by default to reduce negative interactions with non-compliant DMX fixtures that do not check the start code included in RDM packets.
