Symptoms

A light connected to a circuit with a PhaseAdept module is getting power or is on at full brightness when the signal LED on the module is not illuminated. Turning off the breaker to the circuit on the module turns off power to the light, but nothing else will.

Explanation of Issue

It is likely that the component in the module that controls dimming of the load has failed causing the circuit to be in a failed-on state. This is most commonly caused by a magnetic load being connected to the circuit causing a magnetic voltage spike to damage the module.

Magnetic loads are not suitable for PhaseAdept modules.

Solution

  1. Ensure that there are no magnetic loads connected on the circuit.
  2. Replace the PhaseAdept module
