My new UPS has a charging error

Issue

Your system just powered on for the first time, and your UPS (Uninteruptible Power Supply) is beeping constantly with a charging error.

Explanation of Issue

These are shipped new from the factory with the battery unplugged due to shipping safety laws (because nobody wants to find a mysteriously beeping package).  The installer may have forgotten to plug in the battery after installation.

Solution

Remove power to the unit making sure it is completely dead with no lights or display.  If you have an extension battery, make sure the breaker in the back is off.

Remove the front cover (check the instruction manual for details on your specific model), and make sure that the battery is properly connected and fully seated.
