Are AF Cards Replaced In a CEM to CEM3 Upgrade?

Situation

I understand that in a Sensor classic to Sensor3 upgrade, the signal distro cards are not replaced. Does this also apply to the Advanced Features (AF) cards?

Explanation

AF cards are replaced as part of a rack upgrade. The circuitry in the AF cards has changed between Sensor and Sensor 3 racks, so the CEM3 will need Sensor 3 AF cards for proper communication.
