Weight Estimates and Load Capacity (WLL, ELL) - FlyPipe

FlyPipe

FlyPipe hoists have a 500 lb. (227 kg) working load limit (WLL/ELL). The WLL includes the weight of the Drive Section, any Mid Sections, End Section, and the weight of the hoist power and control cables. The weight of any Helix Cable Management assemblies, ColorSource Raceway, WebPipe battens, and/or other components need to be subtracted from the 500 lb. (227 kg) WLL to calculate the functional WLL for a specific application.

The following component weights can be used to calculate the remaining capacity of a hoist:

  • FlyPipe 1.0 HP Drive Section               140 lb.  (64 kg)
  • FlyPipe 1.5 HP Drive Section               190 lb.  (86 kg)
  • FlyPipe Mid Section                                   60 lb.  (27 kg)
  • FlyPipe End Section                                   40 lb.  (18 kg)
  • ColorSource Raceway                             2.5 lb./ft  (3.72 kg/m)
  • WebPipe Batten*                                        1.5 lb./ft  (2.23 kg/m)
  • Helix @ 50’ of travel                                  25 lb. (11 kg) + Cable Weight @ 96' per cable
  • Helix @ 30’ of travel                                  17 lb. (8 kg) + Cable Weight @ 65' per cable
FlyPipe Studio

FlyPipe Studio hoists have a 300 lb (140 kg) working load limit WLL/ELL). The WLL includes the weight of FlyPipe Studio and the weight of the hoist power and control cables. The weight of any Helix Cable Management assemblies, ColorSource Raceway, WebPipe battens, and/or other components need to be subtracted from the 300 lb. (140 kg) WLL to calculate the functional WLL for a specific application.

  • FlyPipe Studio Drive Section                140 lb.  (60 kg)
  • ColorSource Raceway                               2.5 lb./ft  (3.72 kg/m)
  • WebPipe Batten*                                          1.5 lb./ft  (2.23 kg/m)
  • Helix @ 25' of travel                                    15 lb (7 kg) + Cable Weight @ 53' per cable

*The published load ratings of WebPipe batten are dependent on the internal web in the batten being oriented vertically. A self-tapping set screw is provided with each CSR & FlyPipe Hanger Bracket to keep WebPipe batten from rotating in the bracket.
