How to Update Front Panel firmware
The following front‑panel firmware update procedure applies to Tour Hog, Stage Hog, Flex Hog, and Gig Hog consoles. Keep in mind that the playback and programmer sections of each front panel run on separate, independent firmware.
You should perform this update only when it is specifically required by the Hog OS release notes or when advised by ETC Technical Support.
Firmware Update Procedure
-
Download the appropriate firmware file from the Hog Family Documentation page on the ETC website. The file will have an .s19 extension.
-
Copy the firmware file to a USB flash drive.
-
Boot the console to the start screen (or launch Hog PC and connect the Gig Hog via USB).
-
On the start screen, press Control Panel to open the Control Panel window.
-
Navigate to the System Info tab.
-
Verify the current firmware version. This is shown as the number following FW.
-
Press Update Firmware next to the corresponding front‑panel section.
-
Use the file browser to select the firmware update file from the USB flash drive.
-
Allow the update to run. The update dialog will close automatically, and the panel will reset, indicated by an LED rainbow sequence.
-
Power‑cycle the console or wing, then return to the System Info tab to confirm that the firmware version matches the expected update.
-
If needed, you may downgrade to an earlier firmware version by repeating this procedure with the desired file. You can also restore the factory‑installed firmware using the process described in section 33.6 of the Hog OS Help Manual.
Note: This image shows Hog PC, but the process and location are the same for all Hog Consoles.
