Video Card Replacement for Hog iPC

Explanation

Use this article to replace the video card in the Hog iPC.

Perform repair work at your own risk. ENSURE ANY POWER FROM DEVICES HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED BEFORE BEGINNING ANY REPAIR WORK.  If you do not feel comfortable performing the repair work, please contact HES or your local service center.  Be aware that HES is not responsible for any damage or injury caused by repair or service of HES Products by anyone other than HES or its authorized repair agents and such damage is excluded from HES’s warranty.

Tools Needed

  • 2mm Hex Tool
  • 4mm Hex Tool
  • #2 Philips Screwdriver
  • 2.5mm Hex tool

Accessing and Replacing the Video Card

  1.  Disconnect and set aside both LCD Touch screen displays

  2.  Remove the 4 encoder knobs using a 2mm hex tool

  3.  Remove the 10 fader caps by lifting from underneath with your fingertip

  4.  Remove the front panel retaining screws using a 4mm hex tool

  5. Slowly and gently lift the rear of the front panel and disconnect the cable connections. Note the connector labels and locations for reassembling the console.

  6. Remove the front panel and set aside
  7.  Remove the 5 screws that mount the computer housing cover, using a #2 Philips screwdriver

    1. Some Hog iPC consoles have the wiring exiting through the top of the computer housing through a snap-in strain relief. Gently lift the cover and snap the strain relief up and out of the mounting hole, and then freed the wiring through the keyhole slot.

  8. Using a 2.5mm hex tool, remove the 2 video card mounting screws located on the rear panel of the console

  9. Gently lift the video card assembly to disconnect it from the PCI slot of the motherboard
  10. Remove the right angle PCI adaptor from the old video card and connect it to the new video card assembly. 
  11. Install the new video card assembly into the computer, connecting it to the same PCI slot on the motherboard

Upgrading Software

Important-Icon.png Note: Version 1.0.1.5 or greater of the Hog iPC Configuration Panel Is compatible with this video card. Only use the following instructions to upgrade from version 1.0.0.0 of the Hog iPC Configuration Panel.
  1. Insert the included CD into the Hog iPC console
  2. Touch the Hog iPC tab and use the Browse field in the upgrade screen to locate the file "iPCConfigPanel-Win32-golden_1-0-1-5.msi".
  3. Once this file is in the location window, touch the Hog iPC Upgrade button to start the upgrade. After the upgrade is complete the Hog iPC console may reboot.
