Programming the SolaPix 7, 19 and 37 on Hog v3 Software

Description/Explanation of Issue

The below instructions will walk you through getting individual Pixel Control, Macro Control and PixelMapping the SolaPix series on Hog v3 software. The below instructions are the same for the 7, 19 and 37 models.

Notes:

• The Part User Numbers will vary between the 7,19, and 37 modes as the LED count is different
• When creating the plot ensure the Master Part is not included in the PixelMap.

Individual Pixel Control

Set the following on the Fixture:

• Base - N/A
• Flex - Mode Disabled
• Pixel - Mode Compound

Repro:

1. Add and Patch a SolaPix 19 Base + Pixel
2. Close the Fixture Window
3. Hit the Clear Key
4. Select just the Master Part
   • 1(.) Enter
5. Put the Intensity at Full
6. Dial the Cyan, Magenta, Yellow Encoder to 100%
7. Dial the White Encoder to 0%
   • Fixture should no longer be outputting
8. Select the Pixel(s)
   • 1.1 Enter
9. Put the Intensity at Full
   • Just the Center Pixel should be on
10. Apply a Color

How to have a Color on the Base with a different Color on a Pixel 

Set the following on the Fixture:

• Base - N/A
• Flex - Mode Disabled
• Pixel - Mode Compound

Repro:

1. Add and Patch a SolaPix 19 Base + Pixel
2. Close the Fixture Window
3. Hit the Clear Key
4. Select just the Master Part
   • 1(.) Enter
5. Put the Intensity at Full
6. Apply a Color
7. Select the Cell(s) you want a different color
   • 1.2 thru 1.7 Enter
8. Put the Intensity at Full
9. Apply a Color

How to PixelMap: Color Content

This assumes you know how to build a Plot and assign a PixleMap Layer to the Fixtures. If you need a refresher please look at Section 20.0 of the Hog User Manual.

Set the following on the Fixture:

• Base - N/A
• Flex - Mode Disabled
• Pixel - Mode Compound

Repro: Color Content

1. Add and Patch a SolaPix 19 Base + Pixel
2. Add a Pixelmap Layer
3. Close the Fixture Window
4. Hit the Clear Key
5. Create a Plot with the SolaPix
6. Select the Whole Fixture
   • 1 Enter
7. Put the Intensity to Full
8. Set the Cells so they are listening to the Plot
   • 1.1 thru Enter
9. Apply the Pixlemap Layer to the SolaPix
   • Ensure the Master Part is not included
10. Put the Pixelmap Layer Intensity to Full
11. Apply a Movie to the Layer
12. Color Movie
13. Select the Master Part
    • 1(.) Enter
14. Dial the Cyan, Magenta, Yellow Encoder to 100%
15. Dial the White Encoder to 0%
16. Select the Cells
    • 1.1 thru Enter
17. Dial the White Encoder to 0%

Repro: White Content - then adding color

1. Add and Patch a SolaPix 19 Base + Pixel
2. Add a Pixelmap Layer
3. Close the Fixture Window
4. Hit the Clear Key
5. Create a Plot with the SolaPix
6. Select the Whole Fixture
   • 1 Enter
7. Put the Intensity to Full
8. Set the Cells so they are listening to the Plot
9. Apply the Pixlemap Layer to the SolaPix
   • Ensure the Master Part is not included
10. Put the Pixelmap Layer Intensity to Full
11. Apply a Movie to the Layer
    • White Movie
12. Select the Master Part
    • 1(.) Enter
13. Dial the Cyan, Magenta, Yellow Encoder to 100%
14. Dial the White Encoder to 0%
15. Select the Cells
    • 1.1 thru Enter
16. Dial the White Encoder to 0%
17. Select the PixelMap Layer
18. Dial Yellow to 100%
19. Content should be yellow

Note:

• If you would like the Base to have a Color simply select the Base (1.) and apply a color.

How to Use the Flex Macros

Note:

• Some Macros use all 4 Flex Layers so you might need to add color to them all before seeing the Macro run correctly. It will appear as if Intensity is off while the macro is running.

Set the following on the Fixture

• Base - N/A
• Flex - Mode Compound
• Pixel - Mode Disabled

Repro:  Applying a Color to the Macro with the Base OFF

1. Add Patch a SolaPix 19 Base + Flex
2. Close the Fixture Window
3. Hit the Clear Key
4. Select the Master Part and the 1st Flex Cell
   • 1(.) + 1(.)1 Enter
5. Put the Intensity at Full
6. Select the Master Part
   • 1(.) Enter
7. Select a Macro
8. Dial the Cyan, Magenta, Yellow Encoder to 100%
9. Dial the White Encoder to 0%
10. Select the Flex Cell
    • 1.1 Enter
11. Apply a Color

Repro: Applying a Color to the Macro and then a different Color to the Base

1. Patch a SolaPix 19 Base + Flex
2. Close the Fixture Window
3. Hit the Clear Key
4. Select the Master Part and the 1st Flex Cell
   • 1(.) + 1(.)1 Enter
5. Put the Intensity at Full
6. Select a Macro
7. Apply a Color
8. Select the Flex Cell
   • 1.1 Enter
9. Apply a Color

How to Use Base + Flex + Pixel

Set the following on the Fixture

• Base - N/A
• Flex - Mode Compound
• Pixel - Mode Compound

Repro:  Applying a Color to the Base, a different Color to the Flex and a different Color to the Pixel

1. Patch a SolaPix 19 Base + Flex + Pixel
2. Close the Fixture Window
3. Hit the Clear Key
4. Select the Master Part
   • 1(.) Enter
5. Put the Intensity at Full
6. Apply a Color
7. Select a Macro
8. Select the Flex Cell
   • 1.20 Enter
9. Put the Intensity at Full
10. Apply a Color
11. Select the Pixel Cells
    • 1.2 thru 1.7 Enter
12. Put the Intensity at Full
13. Apply a Color
