Some or all of the lights in my Echoflex space/system will dim or turn off on their own.
Description/Explanation of Issue
The most likely culprit in this case is an installed sensor or timeclock..
An occupancy/vacancy sensor can turn lights off or dim them to a specified 'partial-off' level after a specified time of not sensing motion and/or audio.
A light/photo sensor monitors light levels in a space and automatically adjusts levels to match a configured set point.
While Echoflex does not have a timeclock, an Echoflex system can be connected to an Echo system via the Echo Echoflex Interface (EEI). An Echo timeclock atuomatically runs events that change light levels based on the time of day. If an Echoflex controller is linked to the EEI, it will act like a specified Echo zone and respond to any events the Echo timeclock executes that include that zone.
- Verify it there are sensors in the space.
- The most common place to find them is on the ceiling, but they can be installed elsewhere.
- Keep in mind not all sensors look like your typical disc-style unit. Wall sensors, door/window sensors, and contact input interfaces configured as sensors could also be what you are looking for.
- If you have access to the controller(s), check its/their power LED blink pattern, which will signal if sensors are linked.
- Verify if there is an EEI and Echo timeclock.
- Depending on the equipment you find, you can then re-program or unlink as needed. Unlinking and some configuration can be performed at the physical equipment, but some programming requires Garibaldi software and a USB Serial Interface. Reference the product manuals to see what you can configure manually and how to perform the re-programming.
- If you cannot find any other equipment, you will need to locate the affected Echoflex controller(s) and try the following:
- Double check linked devices via the power LED blink pattern, determine who those devices are.
- Clear all linked devices/configuration using the clear button on the controller or via Garibaldi.
- In most cases, the clear option will also clear some or all custom configuration.
- The steps to clear and what clear does depends on the controller. For this step, we highly recommend referencing the controller's manual.
- Bypass the controller(s) completely to verify it is not an issue with the load(s).
- If the issue is happening with one controller and not the other of the same type, swap them to see if the issue follows the suspect device.
