How to Test Button Functionality on the Echoflex Multi-Button Interface (MBI) Station
Symptoms/Issue
I am not sure if a button on my Echoflex Multi-Button Interface (MBI) station is working, how can I test it?
Answer
The MBI Station has a button test mode during which the station's LEDs will blink for each registered button press. You can enter this mode and test each button individually.
Notes about this test mode:
- no signals are transmitted from the station when in this test mode.
- The station must reboot after this test, whether manually or automatically (see below).
Steps
- Remove the station face plate to access the [TEST] button on the left side.
- Press and hold the [TEST] button for 6 seconds. All 3 LEDs on the front should blink to indicate entering test mode, then the red LED will continue to blink.
- Tap the [TEST] button until the green and red LEDs are blinking. This is the button test option.
- To activate the test, press and hold the [TEST] button again for 6 seconds so all 3 station LEDs blink again.
- Tap any button and check station LEDs to verify functionality.
- 'Off' buttons (de-illuminated light bulb icon) will trigger the red LED
- 'On' buttons (illuminated light bulb icon) will trigger the green LED
- The test button will trigger the amber LED
- The station must reboot after this test, which can be achieved automatically or manually.
- Automatic: Station will automatically reboot after 180 seconds of inactivity.
- The station LEDs will chase green>amber>red 3 times to indicate a successful reboot.
- Manual: Once done testing, press and hold the [TEST] button for 6 seconds so all 3 station LEDs blink.
- After the initial blink and pause, the station LEDs will chase green>amber>red 3 times to indicate a successful reboot.
- Automatic: Station will automatically reboot after 180 seconds of inactivity.
