EchoTouch Doesn't Respond to Touch or Seems to Move On It's Own

Symptoms/Issue

An EchoTouch Touchscreen may not respond to touch input, or may appear to be responding to touch that isn't there and changing on it's own.

Description/Explanation of Issue

If either of these things are occurring, you may have a grounding issue.

Fix/Solution

  1. If powered via POE (power over ethernet) then add a connection from the grounding point on the back of the screen to earth ground.
  2. If using AUX power, make sure that ground wiring is connected on both ends to a known grounding point.  The ESD ground should also be connected.
  3. Ensure that the plastic film which ships protecting the screen has been removed.
