Echo Preset Station IR Receiver Interferes With Faceplate

Issue

When trying to install a new faceplate onto a Paradigm Heritage or Echo Preset button station, the IR receiver interferes with the faceplate, preventing correct installation.

Explanation of Issue

Smartlink, Echo Preset, and Paradigm Heritage stations originally shipped with an IR receiver for compatibility with an IR remote accessory. In October 2024, the IR receiver was removed from these products, and the window for the receiver was removed from the faceplate.

As a result, attempting to install a newer faceplate without a window on a station that has an IR receiver will result in poor faceplate seating and stability, as the receiver interferes with the faceplate where the window used to be. However, this receiver can be easily adjusted so that it does not interfere.

Contact ETC if you have a Paradigm Heritage or Echo Preset station which needs a replacement faceplate and need to use the IR receiver.

Solution

  1. Slide the white clip under the receiver away from the metal pins, then remove it. You may need to bend the receiver away from the clip to move it.

  2. Gently bend the receiver inwards towards the station. Ensure that the pins do not contact the frame of the station. This will provide clearance for your new faceplate.
