BPS is Not Online in Mosaic Designer
Symptoms
After installing a BPS, despite adding one to your Mosaic Configuration you may not find the BPS online when you attempt to upload configuration.
Explanation of Issue
Mosaic BPS require a DHCP server to be on when they boot up so an IP address can be assigned. Without receiving an IP address in the same range as your controller and your machine running Mosaic Designer, it will not be able to come online.
Solutions
Below are a list of solutions in no particular order.
- Run a DHCP server from a PC via Gateway Configuration Editor.
- Run a DHCP server from Conductor (if available on the site).
- Run a DHCP server from a Console or Switch.
- Run a DHCP app on the machine running Mosaic Designer.
- Be sure to reboot the BPS once a DHCP server is on the network.
