Space Names Required In Preset PSAP Strings in Paradigm v4.0.0 and v4.0.1

Issue

In a Paradigm system running software version 4.0.0 or 4.0.1, PSAP (Paradigm Serial Access Protocol) serial strings are being received by the processor, but not activating. In the logs, there may be an error that the preset is invalid.

Explanation of Issue

In Paradigm software v4.0.0 and 4.0.1, we incorrectly started requiring the Primary Space or Subspace name in PSAP serial strings for preset activation. This is a bug, as the space name should be optional. In the PSAP v4.0 Guide, rev A, it correctly states that the space name is optional for Preset Commands, which causes confusion for programmers. This issue was corrected in v4.1.0, so upgrade to that version if you're commissioning a new site.

Solution

  1. First, make sure the preset name and the name in the string match exactly (case-sensitive).
  2. Then, add the Space name to the string, separating it from the Preset name with a comma and a space
  3. For example, to activate a preset named "Sconces," located in a Space named "Lobby," the string would be pst act Sconces, Lobby
