Unison Heritage Contact Interface (UHCI) Wall Mount Label Changes
Over time two of the labels have changed on the Unison Heritage Contact Interface (UHCI) Wall Mount product, to better describe the type of signal being sent/received on the contact input wiring.
The station originally shipped with the following labels:
This label resides to the right of the terminals where all of the IO lands.
This label resides on the green connector which the switch input wires land.
In August 2015 the connector label was changed to reflect that the two pins labeled "COM" are not actually both common. One sends voltage out, while the other is actually a true common. The station ships with a wire landed on "V out" at the connector, and at the four "COM" terminals below the switch inputs. No wire is landed on "COM" on the connector by default. This setup allows a dry button or contact to function normally out of the box when wired to "SW# IN" and "COM" on the terminal label. If installing a wet contact device, like some 3rd party occupancy sensors, you would need to move the wire from "V out" to "COM" on the green connector.
In February 2018 both the terminal strip and the connector labels were changed to add further clarification. The terminal strip change the "COM" below the switch inputs to "+24V" to reflect that there actually is voltage present on those four terminals.
The connector label changed "V out" to "+24V DC" to specify exactly what type of power is being output, while the label below the number was changed from "CONTACT INPUTS" to "Apply +24V to activate input" to better describe the fact that 24vdc must be applied to the inputs to make them function, regardless of whether the green connector has the wire landed on "+24V DC" or "COM."
