Introduction
ETC Technical Support will sometimes ask for the firmware version of your P-TS7 or P-LCD 7" touchscreen for troubleshooting purposes. The easiest way to determine what version the touchscreen is running is to press the [MODE] button, which is accessed differently depending on the type of hardware. Each is outlined separately below. NOTE: P-TS7 hardware is shown in the pictures but P-LCD hardware is similar.
Wall mount
- Firmly grasp the touchscreen by the sides.
- Pull the bottom slightly outwards, then lift up and pull towards yourself.
- Rotate the touchscreen to look at the bottom edge which has an SD card slot, USB port, and a handful of recessed buttons and indicators.
- Using a fine-point object (such as a pen or paperclip), press the [MODE] button on the bottom of the touchscreen.
Portable (wired LinkConnect or Ethernet)
- If necessary unfold the clamshell covering the touchscreen display.
- Identify the metal door on the base (bottom edge) of the touchscreen.
- Grab the top edge of the door and open it downward, exposing the SD card slot, USB port, and a handful of recessed buttons and indicators.
- Using a fine-point object (such as a pen or paperclip), press the [MODE] button located behind the door.
Handheld (wireless)
- Identify the plastic curved door along the top edge of the touchscreen.
- Open the plastic door by first pulling it slightly toward you (to the front of the touchscreen) and then folding the door backward. This works best using one hand in the middle of the display.
- Rotate the touchscreen so the display is facing away from you, and fold the wireless antenna out of the way, exposing the SD card slot, and a handful of recessed buttons and indicators.
- Using a fine-point object (such as a pen or paperclip), press the [MODE] button located behind the door and antenna.
Finding the version
After pressing the [MODE] button the screen below will display. The Firmware version is listed on the {About} tab. (NOTE: the firmware version listed in the screenshot is one of many possibilities. Each hardware type is restricted to certain firmware versions.)
