Red LED Blinking at Bottom of P-TS7
Symptoms
On a P-TS7, there is a faint red LED visibly blinking in the bottom right corner of the unit.
Explanation of Issue
This LED is the Infrared transmitter used to assist the screen in detecting proximity and automatically waking when the user is near. There was a component change in the life of the product and the new IR transmitter also includes a bit of the visible spectrum.
Fix
This is normal behaviour for the device. However it is possible to turn off the proximity detection if this blinking is an issue. Please contact ETC Technical Services for instructions on how to disable the proximity sensor
