Description

Over time, ETCnomad dongles have come in a variety of different styles and output counts. The number of available outputs that are programmed on the dongle vary depending on what version of software you are running on Eos/Cobalt/Hog 4. The table below shows the number of outputs you can expect for the version of software you are running.

Types of Dongles:

Purple EYDIB

  • These originally shipped as "Eos Client Dongles" and were coded as having 256 output addresses.
  • These dongles became "ETCnomad Dongles" and can be read by Eos, Cobalt, and Hog 4.
  • Check the table above to determine the output count of the "256" dongle in the particular version of software you are using

Purple OOMXR

  • These originally shipped as "Congo Client Dongles" or "Congo PC Dongles" and were coded with a range of output addresses.
  • These dongles can only be read by Congo and Cobalt software. They do not work with Eos or Hog 4

Small Green Sentinel

  • These dongles are ETCnomad Dongles and are still used today.
  • These dongles are supported by Eos, Cobalt, and Hog 4
  • Check the table above to determine the output count of your dongle in the particular version of software you are using.
  • There was a brief period of time when ETC used Small Green Sentinel dongles for "Cobalt Nomad" which only existed for Cobalt v7.0.0 and v7.0.1.
    • These "Cobalt Nomad" dongles can only be read by Cobalt. They do not support Eos or Hog 4.
    • If you have one of these green "Cobalt Nomad" dongles, please contact ETC Technical Services to get it replaced with an ETCnomad dongle.
    • Congo Client Dongles could have also been green and are only to be used with Cobalt software.

Small Blue Sentinel

  • These dongles are ETCnomad Dongles and were shipped for a brief period of time when the green version of the dongle were not available.
  • These dongles are supported by Eos, Cobalt, and Hog 4
  • Check the table above to determine the output count of your dongle in the particular version of software you are using.
  • The only difference is the color, but no, you can't order a blue dongle by choice.
