Go and Stop/Back Keys Sticking Down
Issue
The [Go], [Stop|Back], and/or [Master] keys on my Ion Xe/Ion Xe 20 or Element 2 console get physically stuck in the down position when pressed and do not spring back up when released.
Explanation of Issue
This issue may occur due to a misshapen stabilizer wire underneath these keys.
Solution
As the stabilizer wire is difficult to access in the field, the best solution is generally to replace the entire circuit board housing the Go and Stop|Back keys (the main playback board).
- Element 2: 4331B5702
- Ion Xe/Ion Xe 20: 4250B5638
- Power the console off and disconnect all cables from it.
- Open the console.
- Locate the main playback board, on the underside of the face panel assembly.
- Take a picture of it to document how all cables are connected.
- Disconnect all cables from the main playback board.
- Remove the screws securing the main playback board to the console's face panel.
- Remove the main playback board and replace it with the new one.
- Follow these steps in reverse to reassemble the console.
