Eos Family Fixture Library is Missing or Invalid
Explanation
The fixture library is an essential component of the Eos family software that runs on consoles and ETCnomad. Normally, the fixture library is installed and updated alongside the main Eos software. The fixture library can also be manually updated by itself.
To check what version of the fixture library is installed on your device, do the following:
If there is no version number listed, then there is no fixture library installed. Without a fixture library, the device will not function properly, and several strange symptoms may be observed.
Solution
The solution is to download and install a valid fixture library onto the device (in most cases, you will want the most recent version): see the article How to Update the Eos Family Fixture Library.
Several of these symptoms can also be caused by a fixture library that is either corrupted or incompatible with the version of Eos software that is installed. Read the chart in the linked article carefully to determine what fixture library versions are compatible with your software, and update your Eos software if necessary before installing the latest fixture library.
Symptoms of a Missing or Invalid Fixture Library
Color picker is blank
When the color picker is opened in Tab 5 or Tab 27, it is blank. No color space is displayed.

Nothing will patch
When attempting to patch channels, no address or type will populate for any channel even after executing valid patch commands. Channels can be selected, just not patched to addresses or assigned a type. Even the default type ("Dimmer") will not patch.
Fixture manufacturer list is blank
When attempting to assign a type to a channel, the list of fixture manufacturers is empty.
Eos crashes or fails to start
In some cases, a missing fixture library can cause Eos software to crash or fail to start, leaving you stuck on the shell screen with [Primary], [Backup], etc.
