Desire Fresnel 7 driver and control card compatibility
Question
Driver and control cards for Desire Fresnel 7 fixtures have changed due to part shortages, raising the question of compatibility with older versions. Can the new control card be used with the old driver? If the encoders are broken off and I replace the control card do I have to replace the driver card as well?
Answer
When replacing the old style of Driver or Control Card with the new ones, BOTH cards must be replaced. The older styles of card are known as "FPGA" and the newer ones are "Non-FPGA". These two types of cards CANNOT be mixed.
