When and why did Relay Modules change?

In the summer of 2020, the ETC Relay Module (R20,  R20AF, AR20, ER15AF, etc) was re-engineered to improve supply chain reliability.

We also took this opportunity to add a yellow label on the front of the relay so it is more easily identifiable in a rack.

Are the new style of Relay Modules functionally the same?

They are!  The new version of Relay Modules are backwards compatible and the specifications and usage cases are exactly the same.  They can be used in all Sensor racks (Sensor 3, Sensor+, Sensor Classic) as well as DRd racks and Legacy DR racks.
