CEM3 Bootlooping or Resetting
Symptoms
CEM3 is rebooting/resetting/boot looping on its own
Explanation of Issue
The most common cause of this behavior is a duplicate IP address with another device on the network
- The easiest way to confirm if the issue is network related is to physically disconnect it from the network switch and see if it stabilizes. This can be done by unplugging the rack's network cable from the network switch, or just shutting off the switch.
- If disconnecting the rack from the network allows it to stay booted, try changing the IP address to one within your IP scheme that you know for sure isn't in use by anything else on the network.
Other Potential Causes
- Test switch (S3) failure
- Firmware corruption
Uncommon, but can happen. A failed update and unintentional resets during the firmware update process can certainly cause this issue.
- Boot line corruption
Rare. It is unknown what can cause the boot line to be corrupted, but may be related to a test switch failure
