How to Change the Start Address on Sensor3 (CEM3)

Important-Icon.png

The methods outlined below assume no changes need to be made to module type/density or circuit numbering. These patching methods will follow the existing circuit numbering order. If you are changing module density or circuit numbering, it is recommend you change those first and then resume patching.

Version 1.6.0 or Higher

Navigate to Quick Setup by pushing [Setup]>Quick Setup>[Enter]

On the Module, Circuit, and Dimmer Double screens select Next and press [Enter] to get to the Patching options.

Choose your patching mode and options according to the following:

  • Simple: This method specifies the same starting address for all three data ports (DMX A, DMX B, and sACN) at once. You can enter the start address, as well as disable any of the three ports.
  • Independent: This method allows you to specify different starting addresses for each data port.
  • Universe Split: This method should be used when a DMX universe will end midway through the rack's patch. Enter the starting address for the patch. If the patch sequence exceeds 512 (256 if dimmer doubling is enabled) DMX A will patch the rest of the circuits to 0, and DMX B will restart the patch addresses at 1 for the remaining circuits.

Once the correct options have been chosen, select Next and press [Enter]. The screen will ask if you want to create a new config and erase the rack's current config. Select OK and then press [Enter] to save your changes. Choosing Abort will exit out of Quick Setup without saving changes.

Version 1.5.1 or Lower

  • Navigate to Automatic Patching by pushing [Setup]>Patching>Automatic: <choose method>
  • Enter or scroll to the desired starting channel number using the keypad. For Independent Mode, repeat for the other data ports.
  • Press [Enter] and confirm to save the changes.

Automatic Patching Modes:

  • Simple: This method specifies the same starting address for all three data ports (DMX A, DMX B, and sACN) at once. You can enter the start address, and the changes propagate to all ports listed.
