Configuring a Backup Processor on Hog
Symptoms/Issue
In rare cases, the Main Processor may go offline. When this happens, a backup Processor must take over output seamlessly.
Hog manages Processor failover using sACN Playback Priority.
While multiple consoles can share Net Number 1, each Processor must have its own unique Net Number.
Follow the instructions below to configure Processor failover using sACN Playback Priority.
Fix/Solution
- In the Network window, select the Add Processor button.
- An Add Processor popup menu will open allowing you to enter the Processor Net Number.
- it will default to a Net Number of 2
- Press the OK button
- The Add Processor popup will close
- In the Network window you will now see a second Processor listed under the Processor header
- Select that Processor and then click on the Setting Button at the top of the Network Window
- when the processor is correctly selected the whole processor row will turn a light blue color
- Select the Output tab
- Press the Add Mapping button
- An Add Mapping(s) popup menu will open
- Set the desired Universe rage
- Add an sACN mapping
- Press the OK button
- Set the sACN Priority to 99
- the priority can be set to anything just as long as it has a lower setting that the main Processor
- Press the Apply button
- Press the Cancel button
- this will close the Processor Settings window
