A Quick Guide to Hog Programming (starting a new show, patching fixtures, creating a look and finally recording)

Description/Explanation of Issue

The below instructions will walk you through starting a new show, patching fixtures, creating a look and finally recording that look for playback. If you follow the below steps in order you will have created a new show, scheduled and patched fixtures, created a look, and then recorded that look for playback. 

Adding Fixtures to the Show:

  1. Launch a New Show
  2. Name the Show
  3. Hit the Finish Button
  4. Hold down on the Center of the Screen for 2 seconds
    • A Menu Window will open
  5. Select the Fixtures Button
    • on the 3rd Row
  6. The Fixture Window will open
  7. Select the Add Fixtures Button
    • 1st button under the word Fixture top left of the parent window
  8. The Fixture Schedule Window will open
  9. Type Lonestar (or the fixture you are using) in the Search fixture name field
    • The list will filter to High End and display the Lonestar Fixtures
    • If the fixture is not appearing please check our  Fixture Library Hub
  10. Click on Lonestar
  11. A Blue Bar will appear, and the Count Cell will become editable
  12. Using the Numerical Keypad enter the amount of Fixtures
    • We will enter 6
  13. Hit the OK Button on the Fixture Schedule Window
    • The Fixture Schedule Window will close
    • Lonestars will be added to the Fixture Window
  14. Using the Numerical Keypad
    • Hit the @ Key
    • Hit the Enter Key
    • The Fixtures Addresses will appear in the Fixture Window
  15. Close the Fixture Window
    • You can either hit the ‘X’ in the top right corner of the Fixture Window
    • Or hit the Close button on the top right corner of the Parent Window
  16. Hit the Clear Key

Controlling the Fixtures via the Media Picker:

  1. Using the Numerical Keypad
    • 1 Thru 6 Enter
    • Hit the @ Key
    • Hit the Full Key
    • The Fixtures should be at 100% Intensity
    • The Clear Key on the Front Panel will light up Red
  2. Hold down on the Center of the Screen for 2 seconds
    • A Menu Window will open
  3. Select the Media Picker Button
    • on the 2nd Row
  4. The Media Picker Window will open
  5. Use the tabs to select a Color or Gobo
    • Strobe is just open or closed

Controlling the Fixtures via an Encoder:

  1. 1 Thru 6 Enter
  2. Hit the @ Key
  3. Hit the Full Key
  4. The Fixtures should be at 100% Intensity
  5. The Clear Key on the Front Panel will light up Red
  6. Hit the Colour Button on the Front Panel
    • Top Row above the Numerical Keypad
  7. Turn the Encoder to select a Color
  8. Hit the Beam Key on the Front Panel
    • Top Row above the Numerical Keypad
  9. Turn the Encoder to select a Gobo
  10. Hit the Position Key on the Front Panel
    • Top Row above the Numerical Keypad
  11. Turn the Encoder to Position the Light

 

Note: to control a single fixture just type the number

  • 1 Enter to control fixture 1
  • 2 Enter to control fixture 2
  • 1+3+5 Enter will control fixtures 1-3-5

 

Recording a Look:

  1. Once you have created the look hit the Record Key
    • Next to the 7 Key in the Numerical Keypad
  2. Touch a Choose Key above a fader
  3. Play the Master
  4. Hit the Clear Key
    • Fixtures will no longer be selected and the output is coming from playback
    • The Red LED for the Clear Key will turn off
