Hog 4 V3 to V4 Guide

v4.0.0 Released March 12th 2024
v4.0.0 is the latest release of Hog 4 V4 software
v4.0.0 includes a whole new approach to controlling colour in the Hog 4 system. This means that parameter data had to be rewritten from the ground up in order to utilize these new tools.
Because of these major underlying changes, programmers that intend to use v4.0.0 software will have to make a new show file
- Fixture patch information can be exported from a V3 showfile and imported into V4 via the fixture window.
- Custom XML fixture profiles can be exported from V3 showfiles and imported into V4 via the fixture builder window
- All other showfile data is not importable (Views, groups, pallettes, cuelists, scenes, macros etc)
v4.1.0 (In Development)
v4.1.0 is expected to release in Q2 of 2024
v4.1.0 will include import tools for importing show files from v3.21.0 shows, including showfile data, (Views, groups, pallettes, cuelists, scenes, macros etc)
v3.20.0 (Released)
v3.20.0 Released January 15th 2024
v3.20.0 is the latest release of V3 software
v3.21.0 (In Development)
v3.21.0 is expected to release in Q2 of 2024
v4.1.0 will include Export tools for importing show files from v3.21.0 shows, including showfile data, (Views, groups, pallettes, cuelists, scenes, macros etc)

Backup your old files (Just in case you decide to downgrade)
Export your patch via XML (Optional)
Install V4 to your console!
Start new showfile
Import your patch via XML (Optional)
"I have show files that I will continue to need to use."
Stay on V3 until you decide to make the move to V4

Wait for v3.21.0 and v4.1.0 to release
Load your show files on v3.21.0
Export your show data
Backup your old files (Just in case you decide to downgrade)
Install v4.1.0
Create new showfile
Import your show data
