XPC Controller Rotary Dail Explanation

Issue

All Pharos Express XPC controllers feature a front dial and push button that allow of certain operations to be controlled directly on the the hardware

The Dial

The dial is rotary knob located on the right hand side of the controller and can be rotated continuously, a distinct click can be felt while rotating the dial.
The dials position is indicated by the engraved line, in above photo, our dial is currently in the 'run' state.

The Functions

All of the below functions are always available, with or without a configuration loaded to the controller.

  • OFF - Blackout, all channels, including DALI to 0%.
  • DX 1 - DMX port 1 channels to 50%.
  • DX 2 - DMX port 2 channels to 50%.
  • DALI - DALI channels to 50%.
  • ALL - all DMX and DALI channels at 50%.

All of the below functions require a configuration to be loaded to the controller to be used.

  • RUN - Runs the loaded project as normal.
  • PG 1 - Project Tag 1, will run the associated function with a Project 1 Tag set via the "Rotary Dial" tag in the Express Software.
  • PG 2 - Project Tag 2, will run the associated function with a Project 2 Tag set via the "Rotary Dial" tag in the Express Software.
  • PG 3 - Project Tag 3, will run the associated function with a Project 3 Tag set via the "Rotary Dial" tag in the Express Software.
  • PG 4 - Project Tag 4, will run the associated function with a Project 4 Tag set via the "Rotary Dial" tag in the Express Software.

Push Button

The push button located directly below the rotary dial can be used increase or decrease the intensity output levels.
Note that there is not behavior associated with button when the dial is set to a project function position (PG 1 -4, Run).
