Understanding Tunable White Control Modes for the Echoflex ELED2 Tunable White Dimming Controller

Description

The Echoflex Tunable White Dimming Controller (ELED2) supports 4 different tunable white operating modes, each depending on what control devices are linked to each of the 3 channels.

Dim-To-Warm

  • What is linked: at least 1 switch to channel 1, nothing to channel 2 or 3.
    • Can also have sensors linked to channel 1 in addition to switch.
  • Functionality: joint control of intensity and CCT via the same switch.
    • Ex: Press and hold up on switch, intensity increases and CCT becomes cooler.

Explicit Color Control

  • What is linked: at least 1 switch to channel 1, at least 1 switch to channel 2, nothing to channel 3.
  • Functionality: explicit control intensity and CCT via different switches.
    • Ex: Press and hold up on switch linked to channel 1, intensity increases. Press and hold up on switch linked to channel 2, color becomes cooler.
  • Note on CCT control: single tap of 'on' or 'off' will incrementally ramp the color cooler/warmer, press and hold will continually ramp as long as button is held.

Automated Color Tuning

  • What is linked:  CCT sensor to channel 2, nothing to channel 3.
  • Functionality: explicit control intensity and CCT via different switches.

Characterized Color Tuning

  • What is linked: at least 1 switch to channel 1, at least 1 switch to channel 2, nothing to channel 3.
  • Functionality: explicit control intensity and CCT via different switches.
