Can EchoTouch snapshot sACN for Echo Presets?
Question
Is it possible to set up EchoTouch to snapshot sACN into Echo Presets?
Answer
Yes! This ability was added in EchoTouch v3.2.0, so if your EchoTouch is running an earlier version, the unit must be upgraded first. Follow the instructions below to setup sACN snapshot.
- Press the Setup cog, and then the Network tab. Change the "Network Universes" number to match the sACN universe the EchoTouch will output/snapshot
- While on the Network tab, tap the checkbox next to 'sACN snapshot' to enable the ability to do so. NOTE: this setting is disabled by default.
- Patch devices to DMX/sACN in the Patch screen, all of which will be snapshot automatically when Record is pressed. NOTE: devices can be changed to a different space after they've been added
- Additionally a range of unpatched addresses can be added, which also get recorded into presets when Record is pressed. The "Add Range" button is only visible when sACN snapshot is enabled on the EchoTouch. Pressing this button displays the patch wizard, allowing you to enter a contiguous range of unpatched addresses
- After pressing the green check mark on the Patch Wizard, the new range will be displayed in the patch list. Change the space if desired.
- After all the desired addresses are patched, simply press the Record button in the desired space to snapshot local and external sACN values for playback in Echo presets.
