How to change the date and time on a Paradigm Architectural Control Processor (P-ACP)

Issue

The date and/or time is incorrect on my Paradigm Architectural Control Processor (P-ACP). How can I change it?

The process varies depending on the software version the system is running as well as if the P-ACP is part of a Paradigm Server (P-CCS) system or not. See the differences between them noted below.

P-ACP is in a Server system

If the system is running v5.1.0 or higher, you cannot change the date/time at the P-ACP, since it only gets its time via SNTP from the P-CCS. You must change the date/time at the device hosting the time server for the lighting network. Most often in a Paradigm Server system that will be a Conductor (which in turn provides time to the P-ACP via the P-CCS), or it could also be a separate time server provided by the site's IT department.

If the system is running v5.0.3 or lower, you can change the date/time at the P-ACP and it will also propagate upwards to the P-CCS and Conductor from either the P-ACP's facepanel or from its web UI. See dedicated sections below for instructions for each.

P-ACP is in a standalone or non-Server system

In a single processor standalone system or multi-processor non-Server system you can change the time from the P-ACP's facepanel or from its web UI, and each is outlined separately below. In rare cases a non-Server system may be listening to a standalone Conductor or a separate time server hosted by the site's IT department, and in that case date/time must be adjusted on that device.

At the P-ACP facepanel

  1. Press the check mark to enter Main Menu
  2. Navigate to Arch Setup, and press the check mark
  3. Navigate to Date/Time/Location and press the check mark.
  4. Select Change Settings and press the check mark
  5. Use the scroll wheel, check mark, and number pad to make the necessary changes. Upon pressing the check mark to save a setting it will prompt asking "Do you want to resync timed events?", and generally we recommend choosing "No", as choosing Yes can potentially alter the light levels in the facility.***
    1. *** the exception to this is if you're correcting the date/time after replacing the timeclock battery, since it usually will be advancing many years forward to the correct date/time.
  6. Press the back button (<) multiple times until you're at the main screen of the P-ACP.

From the P-ACP Web UI for versions 4.0.0 or higher

  1. On a computer connected to the lighting network, open up a web browser and enter the IP address of the P-ACP. The default is 10.101.10.101. In a multi-processor system you only need to change the time on the first processor, and the changes will propagate to the rest of the system.
  2. Click on the blue Menu  button in the top left corner and choose "Setup"
  3. Select the Date/Time tab, then enter the correct information.
  4. Next it will prompt if you want to sync timed events. Generally we recommend not doing this, as it can potentially alter the light levels in the facility.***
    1. *** the exception to this is if you're correcting the date/time after replacing the timeclock battery, since it usually will be advancing many years forward to the correct date/time.
  5. Close your web browser.
