Keystroke Receiving Message When Launching ETCnomad on macOS

Issue

When I launch Eos, I get a "Keystroke Receiving" alert.

"Eos Family Welcome Screen" would like to receive keystrokes from any application alert

Description

On Macs running macOS Catalina (10.15) and higher, a "Keystroke Receiving" alert will pop up, requesting access for Eos Family Welcome Screen to receive keystrokes from any application. This permission is necessary for ETCnomad to communicate with Eos Programming Wings or Fader Wings. The steps below will walk you through granting access.

Fix/Solution

  1. Launch System Preferences
    1. If the "Keystroke Receiving" alert is still up, click on {Open System Preferences}.
    2. If the "Keystroke Receiving" alert is not visible:
      1. Navigate to >System Preferences....
      2. Click on {Security & Privacy}
      3. Navigate to the "Privacy" tab
  2. Select "Input Monitoring" on the left-hand toolbar

  3. If Eos Family Welcome Screen is not listed:
    1. Click on the {+} button. If you are not presented with a {+} button as pictured to the right, follow these steps:
      1. Quit Eos and Eos Family Welcome Screen
      2. Launch Terminal
        1. This can be found in your /Applications/Utilities folder.
      3. Run the following command:tccutil reset ListenEvent com.ETC.EosWelcomeScreen
      4. Re-launch Eos Family Welcome Screen and go back to step 1 above.
    2. Navigate to your Applications folder
    3. Select Eos Family Welcome Screen
    4. Click {Open}
  4. Close and re-open Eos Family Welcome Screen
