Replacing Facepanel Keyboard on Eos Apex Consoles

100-Key Keypad Face Panel Replacement

If instructed and given parts through Tech Services, here are the steps for replacing the face panel keyboard on Apex Family consoles.

Fix/Solution

   
  • Remove the power, USB and cable to the level wheel

  • Remove the 6 screws for the haptic display
    • If the screws are a plastic nylon then remove with care as to not strip them
  • Pull the haptic dispaly straight out disconnecting at the top connection point

  • Remove the 18 screws holding in the face panel
  • Pull the face panel out straight and disconnect from the daughter board in the top right, under the level wheel

  • Apex Control Panel without the Face Panel

  • Place the replacement Face Panel into the metal slots taking care to connect to the port highlighted in the top right.

  • Attach the 18 screws holding in the Face Panel

  • Place in the Haptic Display taking care to connect the display to the connection point highlighted here

  • Attatch with the 6 screws from before
    • If plastic nylon screws then only go to a firm tightness with a hand screwdriver, do not overtighten

  • Reconnect the power, USB, and header to the level wheel
