Cannot Install Hog 4 PC

Symptoms/Issue

Hog4 PC will not install onto a computer. 

Description/Explanation of Issue

  1. Hog 4 PC is not compatible with computers running macOS.
  2. Hog 4 PC needs the .msi installer, not the .iso
  3. Hog 4 PC installer is running, but is stuck on "extracting fixture libraries"

Fix/Solution

Make sure to use a Windows 10 computer

  • If installing Hog 4 PC 3.11.0 or older, then you can use a Windows 7, 8, or 10 computer. Hog 4 PC v3.12.0 and newer are Windows 10 only

Download the .msi file from the website

  • .iso files are for consoles only

If Hog 4 PC installer is stuck on "extracting fixture libraries", then you might have to wait a bit longer.

  • Hog 4 PC is a large application and can take 15-30 minutes to install. Most of the time is unpacking thousands of fixture libraries. The table below will give you an idea of install times with different install times over different Hog 4 PC releases.
  • Install times were greatly improved in 3.16.0 Hog 4 PC should install within a few minutes
