How to Manually Bind Legacy Unison Stations at Legacy Unison Processor
Symptoms/Issue
Legacy Unison button stations are waterfalling (scroll LEDs when any button pressed).
Legacy Unison touchscreen is stuck on Unison logo.
Description/Explanation of Issue
If stations are waterfalling or stuck on Unison logo, that usually indicates they are not bound to (linked for communication) the processor.
Fix/Solution
Most of the time, this is because the processor has dropped its architectural configuration. The following post walks through how to determine if the configuration is gone and how to reload it if it is:
Unison Processor Has No Architectural Configuration
If the configuration is loaded, stations should automatically bind to the processor, but occasionally you may need to bind them manually at the processor. The below steps and video walk through how to bind manually:
Steps to Bind Stations Manually at Processor
- Press and hold hidden Unison Menu Activate Button located above the Unison Logo in the lower left hand corner.
Menu will change from "System OK" or "Dimmer Errors" to [STAT]. - Press the Arrow Down button until processor displays [ARCH].
- Press Enter, you should see [SETUP] as your first option.
- Press Enter, you should see [STATIONS] as your first option.
- Press Enter, you should see [CONNECT] as your first option.
- Press Enter.
- Press the Up Arrow button to select a room.
- Press Enter.
- Press the Up Arrow button to select a section.
- Press Enter.
- Press the Up Arrow button to select a station.
- Press Enter.
- Press the Up Arrow button to select a neuron ID.
- Neuron IDs are unique IDs configured into stations. They should be printed on a sticker located on the station electrical assembly.
- Press Enter, you should receive a confirmation that the connection took.
- Repeat as needed for any other stations.
- Once done, press the Exit button until you return to "System Okay" or "Dimmer errors".
