Replacing the Level Wheel in Eos Apex Consoles

Introduction

This support post will walk you through replacing the level wheel in your Eos Apex Console. This should only be necessary for cosmetic purposes

Required Materials

  • Replacement Level Wheel (ETC PN 4450A3145) 
  • 5.5mm Nut Driver
  • 1/4" Open-Ended Wrench or Crescent Wrench

Replacing the Level Wheel

  1. Open up the control panel on your console by following the instructions in this support post:
  2. Using your Nut Driver, remove the (4) 5.5mm nuts holding the wheel, brackets, and axle to the control panel.
  3. Remove the two black brackets from above and below the level wheel.
  4. Remove the wheel/axle assembly from the control panel.

  1. Using your 1/4" Open-Ended Wrench or Crescent Wrench, unthread the axle/bracket assemblies from the wheel.

  1. Transfer the axle/bracket assemblies to the new wheel.
Important-Icon.png When installing the axles on the new wheel, do not over tighten the shaft into the wheel. It can be stripped easily.

One of the axles will have a magnet installed in the end of it. When re-installing the level wheel, this magnet must be on the right, facing the level wheel sensor.

  1. Reinstall the wheel/axle assembly into the face panel, making sure the axle with the magnet is on the right.
  2. Reinstall the two black brackets above and below the level wheel.
  3. Secure the wheel assembly and black brackets with the (4) 5.5mm nuts.
